POWERS: Transformation into any non-extinct bird he has seen. It's much harder for him to transform into something he hasn't seen in action before (through video or just watching it out in the open), though if he's seen enough sketches and has a basic understanding of a certain bird he can manage it.

HISTORY

Howie's beginnings were pretty rough. Katie Landon was a rather unstable citizen of London, rarely having an actual job, good housing, or a healthy state of mind. She also had a habit of going through men very quickly. This came back to haunt her in the form of a child. It was mostly out of pride that she kept it, also thinking that maybe having something to look after might help her get her life back on track.

This, sadly, did not happen. Though she find herself a low-paying but long term job, Howie was usually no where near the top of the list for her priorities. She'd often leave him alone for long periods of time, even as a very small child. He was still attended to just enough so that there were no real problems- until an incident when he was seven.

Katie was under the influence of alcohol when it happened, and neither of them know exactly what happened. All that can be sure is that she was angry, there were forks in the area, and afterward Howie's right eye was no longer intact.

This got the attention of local law enforcement, and Katie soon lost custody of her son. Surprisingly, they received a message from Howie's Grandparents- offering to take him in. This arrangement worked out well- save for the fact that the elder Landons were living in South Africa. That wasn't a problem for long though, as the boy was quickly flown down to Johannesburg, where he would spend most of his years.

His Grandparents turned out to be quite different; his Grandfather very caring and nurturing to the boy, making sure he was comfortable and safe. His Grandmother on the other hand held nothing but contempt for Howie- seeing only her failure of a daughter in the child, and often blaming him for Katie's mistakes.

A few years later things became rather hard for Howie, as he would often get 'lost'. This would happen anywhere- even in school or his grandparents home. He couldn't tell anyone what was really happening after all- who would believe that a boy could turn into a bird? Still, he managed to get along until he gained some form of control over his transformations.

Though now his life is uneventful, and rather pleasant as his Grandmother grows too old to really bother with scorning him, Howie really prefers it that way. Any change in his peace will not be welcomed.

PERSONALITY

Anyone will tell you that at first; Howie will act like he hates you. He will act like it is a crime that you were even brought upon the earth, and that your levels of stupidity are those that he has never seen in anything greater than a single-celled organism. Though it may seem that he has slapped a label on someone from only a few minutes of knowing them, this is not the case. Howie is in fact very slow at passing real judgment, knowing that often there is much more to a person than what one first perceives.

The boy starts out with the same negative attitude toward everyone, though over time it can be seen that he slowly warms up to people. Most are surprised if they ever see him interacting with his Grandparents, who he cares for deeply. It's really not surprising that he has a very protective side, being very close to the few people he considers friends or loved ones.

APPEARANCE

Howie is rather small for his age, most people tend to mistake him for being around twelve. It's easy to see how- since he's much shorter than most of his peers. He's a fairly sturdily built boy, seeing often participating in sports and being very fond of the outdoors gives him good exercise. His hair is dark and longer than most, most noticeably his right bang which has been grown out to cover most of that side of his face.

He sticks to very casual clothes, not caring that much to take a lot of time tending to his appearance. As long as he's relatively clean and orderly, Howie's pleased. He doesn't really care about making a great impression on people, after all.

In bird form Howie will appear like any normal male of that species- save for a few things. His coloring tends to be slightly darker than usual, and the bird he changes into will be missing it's right eye.

OTHER

Howie is a fictional character for Resolution Remix and is a creation of that one crazy cat lady. He is PB Hemidall from Matantei Loki Ragnarok, which she does not own. Don't sue plzkthnxbai.
